$1 Million Reward Announced as Search Intensifies for Missing Mother Nancy Guthrie

In a heartfelt Instagram post Tuesday morning, Savannah Guthrie announced that her family is offering a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to the whereabouts of her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, who disappeared from her Arizona home after last being seen entering it on the night of January 31.

“Help us bring our beloved mother home. Be a light in the darkness,” Guthrie, a co-host of NBC’s “Today Show,” said in the video.

“We need her back.”

Guthrie acknowledged that her 84-year-old mother, who is believed to have been abducted from her Tucson home, may no longer be alive, given the time that has passed, her age, and her health.

“We know millions of you are praying,” Guthrie said. “Many are praying, of all faiths and of no faith, for her return, and we feel your prayers.”

Guthrie said, “We still believe she might come back, a glimmer of hope, as my sister says. We cling to that tiny hope. We also know that she may be gone, that she may have already passed away.”

Guthrie added, “Perhaps she has returned to the God she loves, and is now dancing in heaven with her parents, her beloved brother Piers, and our father. If that is the case, we will accept it. But we need to know where she is.”

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office announced that it believes Nancy Guthrie was taken from her home against her will, possibly in the middle of the night, and that this includes the possibility of abduction.

In a February 10 post on X.com, FBI Special Agent Kash Patel shared photos and video footage showing a masked man wearing gloves approaching Guthrie’s front door hours after she arrived home. The images were captured by a security camera mounted on the front of the house.

Despite the video and other investigative efforts, authorities have yet to locate Nancy Guthrie.

In her Instagram post on Tuesday, Savannah Guthrie spoke as if addressing someone who might know Nancy’s whereabouts.

“Today is day 24 since our mother was snatched from her bed in the dead of night, and we are now appealing to you to come forward with information,” she wrote.

“Be a light in the darkness.”

Guthrie added that her family understands that millions of other families have “experienced this kind of anxiety” about losing a loved one.

“For this reason,” she said, “we are also donating $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in recognition of their efforts to help families facing loss and actively searching for missing persons.”

The FBI’s X account posted details Tuesday of the $1 million reward offered by the Guthrie family.

“The FBI’s $100,000 reward is also still in effect,” the post stated.
